TV show or real life?

When we are in trouble or asked why we did something, we say the reasons why we did it. There are always reasons to explain our actions. Well, Hannah Baker had thirteen reasons why she did what she did.

In the first season of the new Netflix series Thirteen Reasons Why, Hannah Baker, a high school student has what some would call a normal experience, but hers was totally not normal or reasonable. A fellow classmate of Hannah’s and her crush Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. He opens the box to discover a group of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah, who tragically ended her life two weeks earlier. On the tapes, Hannah explains in detail the thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life.

The movie is based on the book by Jay Asher. This book and tv series has a lot to teach our society. We tend not to realize how much words can hurt someone or how bad our actions can really tear someone apart. This series has really had a huge effect on me and has been a big eye opener.

Hopefully, this series will open the eyes of other high school students. It could also make bullying shrink in society.
