It is finally March, and that means spring is coming closer. Spring is a very busy time of year for me because of sports. Softball is in season now and our first scrimmage is March 13 against Laurel Highlands. Going into this season I am a little skeptical about the outcome. Being a senior I have to really step up and be a leader of the team. There are girls coming out that have never played softball before so it is going to be a challenge.

This year is going to be very different from the last two because we made playoffs. I am going to have to move from third base to shortstop. Also Caitlyn Dugan and I are the pitchers this year. We have been practicing for two months now, so I have high expectations defensively. Offensively, on the other hand, is a different story. We really need to work on hitting to win games. Our biggest games are definitely West Greene and Monessen. They have all around great players.

It is also my last year of softball and it is definitely a depressing feeling. After softball I am completely done with sports and high school is basically over. I am looking forward to this last softball season but not looking forward to the end of it.
