Nicholas Gustovich – Athlete Biography

Nicholas Gustovich is a senior and is a member of the golf team.

“I would like to win at least four matches, but I just take it one step at a time.” Nicholas said. To achieve this goal, Nicholas has continued to practice hard with the rest of the team, in addition to working on the individual aspect of his golf game. He has golfed for two and a half years, and is using that experience to drive toward this goal. So far, he describes his best score as a 52 at Carmichaels Golf Course, and works hard to beat that score every time he plays.

In addition to playing for the Jefferson Morgan Golf Team, Nicholas plays often outside of the school matches. He can be seen at his favorite course, the Greene County Country Club, practicing for the next home match. Otherwise, he can be found playing the course at, Carmichaels Golf Course, attempting to beat his score. Nicholas knows that practice is important, which is why he spends so much time playing his game to beat his high score.

When asked what the hardest part of the game of golf was, Nicholas replied, “The hardest part of the game is the mind game. 90% of the game is mental.” He knows that golf is just as much a game of the mind as it is a game of strength. Keeping a cool head is one of Nicholas’ most important tasks. Any golfer, including Nicholas, will tell you that you cannot play the game well if your mind is not calm and focused on the shot at hand.

As Nicholas is a senior, this is his last year playing for the Jefferson Morgan High School Golf Team. He does not plan to continue his golf game outside of high school, and will not be playing in any colleges. Instead, he plans to put all his efforts into his future career in the work force.
