Janessa Willis – Athlete Biography
Janessa Willis is a junior and a cheerleader for Jefferson Morgans cheer squad.
Janessa has been cheering for five years. She started in 7th and she still participates in it. When asked if she was happy with her performance she said, “Yes I am. I feel like our squad works good together.” She participates with the cheer squad because she really enjoys cheering. She always says she participates because she likes to be with her friends while she’s doing it.
Janessa’s favorite cheer that the cheer squad does is the “Go JM, Go Go JM” cheer. She also likes the touchdown cheer because it’s an upbeat cheer. She states that the most difficult part of cheerleading is the mounting. Janessa is a base, which means she holds up the flyer. Other than mounting being the most difficult she really enjoys cheering.
Janessa is content with her performances. She says that her best performance was at Beth Center during her sophomore year. She says that the best game she has played in are the home games because, “Our home crowd is better at away games.” Being a junior and have been participating for 5 years she has lettered. During her freshman and sophomore year she had lettered.
Janessa’s goals for this season are to have fun with the other cheerleaders. She also has a future plan for after school. She would like to go to Pitt University to study to become a Pharmacist technician.
