Grace Haywood is a senior basketball player at Jefferson Morgan. Grace is a forward for the girls’ basketball team.

Grace has been playing basketball for  10 years and she is going to be taking the court for the last time this year. She is the first one in her family to take up the sport of basketball.  She proudly wears number 20.

Last year, Haywood was sidelined with a knee injury.  This year, she is is looking to having a great final season on the court.

Haywood’s go to person is Kayla Yorko.  She was also asked how she did in her last season and she said she didn’t play. The go to person on the team is Kayla Yorko according to Grace.  When asked about the most difficult team they will face, Grace responded “Cal”.   Grace is looking forward to beating all the teams they play, but it won’t be an easy road so the team will be looking towards the seniors for guidance.

Grace says the biggest thing she’s looking forward to this year is a good coach and a lot of playing time. “Don’t waste your years, it goes by fast.” This is what Grace had to say when asked if she had any words for the underclassmen athletes. Grace says her favorite professional player is Michael Jordan because he is the best basketball player to ever set foot on the court.

Grace hopes to see her fellow Rockets at the games this season.
