Brennan Kozich is a senior and a member of the baseball team.

Kozich plays right field for the Jefferson-Morgan baseball team, and he has been setting and achieving goals for himself as a player for years. Last year, he hit his first double in the Rockets’ game against West Greene, and two of his goals for this year are “catching a lot of fly balls and getting base hits”.

He has been inspired and motivated by his brother over the course of his baseball career.

“My brother, Brandon, helps me every year and works with me on being a better baseball player,” says Kozich.

Kozich recognizes how important it is to have a bond with his team. He says that being close benefits them in “everything they do on the field”. “Working together to get the outs to end the inning” is one situation in which Kozich says it is beneficial to be close with his teammates. Along with being close with their teammates, Kozich shared some advice that he has for younger baseball players.

“Work hard, and if you don’t start one year, don’t give up. Just keep working hard and you will get your chance,” advises Kozich.

As this is the last year of Kozich’s baseball career, he has been reflecting on all of the things that he has done and the memories he has made, and thinking about the people who have helped him along the way. His coaches are a prime example.

“I would like to tell my coaches thank you for coaching me for the past 4 years and teaching me more about the game of baseball,” Kozich says.

As Kozich gets ready to graduate, and as his high school baseball career comes to an end, it is clear that it has been a great part of high school for him, one that he will look back on fondly in years to come.
