What Parents Don’t Understand

Adults need to be reminded that students or young adults don’t always remember things, and sometimes want to take responsibility but other times they do not want to.  Parents and other adult figures get mad when a student forgets something on occasion. I feel like they think we need to be perfect, and never forget anything. If it happens all the time is a different story, but once in a while I think they should give us a little break. If we forget to do chores on occasion I know my parents get very upset at me. I do not understand why if sometimes I forget to do something it should be such a big deal. Many people I know hardly ever forget things, and when they ask the teacher to get it the teacher decides to get very upset. I understand if they were doing this a lot but they are not and need to loosen the reigns.

Another thing is that teens or young adults want responsibility sometimes, and other times do not want to. We are ready to grow up but we are still nervous about what is to come. I myself like to be responsible sometimes for certain things like my homework and chores but do not want to be responsible for other things. My parents in my experience think that everything they throw at me I should be able to handle, and sometimes I cannot. I do not wish to have a ton of responsibility on top of my shoulders.
