Nathaniel Cumer – Athlete Biography
Nathaniel Cumer is a freshman and a member of Jefferson-Morgan the track team.
Cumer has been participating in track since he was in 5th grade. He plays for an out of school track team in Charleroi.
“I sign up for track every year because it keeps me in shape during the summer,” said Cumer.
Cumer prepares for track in the off season by lifting weights and running at least 10 miles a day. He also prepares for track in the off season by playing other sports that will help him with track.
“The best part about doing track is getting to make new friends every year, it is fun getting to compete against different people and travel to different places,” said Cumer.
Nathaniel Cumer does the long jump and throws the javelin. He does long jump because he is fast and he can run and jump really far and high. He does the javelin because he can throw things really far and he has a good throwing arm.
“My favorite memory while doing track is winning my first gold medal the first year that I signed up but I have also improved since then,” said Cumer.
Cumer likes to do track for two teams because he likes the challenges that both teams give him every year. He also likes to compete in different competitions throughout the area.
