Jarred Murray is a freshman and a member of the boy’s basketball team.

Murray is a shooting guard, and has been playing basketball for JM for 6 years, 2 of those at the high school level. Murray still has to go until he is senior and looks to improve his skills during that time so that he can become a valuable player to the team.

“I know I need to work on my defensive skills,” says Murray. “Most of the time I focus on offense which is not ideal for having a very balanced team,” explained Murray. “I also know I need to work on my dribbling skills, but that will come with time and experience,” said Murray.

Murray is a strong supporter of the basketball team on and off the court. He puts a lot of effort into being his best for his sport and his team. Murray hopes to bring his best effort to each and every game.

“One of my goals this season is to bring my best game to every game,” said Murray. “I think one of more strong skills is my three point shot. I hope that can bring some energy to the games,” explained Murray.

When asked what 3 words best describe him as a basketball player, he responded “determined, supportive, focused.”

Murray really wants the team to be successful this season and he has a few thoughts on how to do that.

“I think it we come up big against Carmichaels or California, we can be a serious threat in the section,” says Murray. “If we play solid defense and run our plays correctly, I think we can beat those two teams and any other team in the section.”

Murray hopes to have a full and successful career here at JM playing basketball, and with his determination, that is possible.
